Delete Your Prägen Account

You can permanently delete your Prägen account and all associated data at any time. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
How to delete your account
From the mobile app (iOS or Android)
- Open Prägen and sign in.
- Go to the More tab in the bottom navigation.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm in the dialog. Your account and all data are deleted immediately.
From the web (praegen.app)
Email dogusural@gmail.com from the email address linked to your Prägen account. Include the subject line "Account deletion request". Your account is deleted within 7 days; you'll receive a confirmation email when complete.
What gets deleted
The following data is permanently removed:
- Your account profile (name, email, sign-in provider)
- Your saved vocabulary list and word notes
- Your flashcard progress and review history
- Your quiz session history (multiple-choice, drag-and-drop, etc.)
- Your article reading history
- Your daily usage counts and segment information
- Any in-app feature interaction logs tied to your user ID
What is retained
- Anonymized aggregates — counts of total words looked up, total articles viewed, etc., kept for product analytics. These contain no identifier that links back to you.
- Database backups — encrypted backups are retained for 7 days after deletion, then permanently purged. Your data is removed from the live database immediately; the backup window is for disaster recovery only and is not accessed except in emergencies.
- Subscription billing records — if you had an active subscription, the payment processor (Apple, Google, or Stripe) retains its own transaction records per their respective policies and tax law (typically 7 years). We don't store payment card details.
Subscription cancellation
Deleting your Prägen account does not automatically cancel an active subscription billed through Apple, Google Play, or Stripe — those are managed by the respective platform. To stop billing:
- App Store / Apple subscriptions — manage in App Store settings
- Google Play subscriptions — manage in Google Play settings
